Biography

Maria di Miceli is born around 1810 in Corleone, the daughter of Vito di Miceli and Rosalia di Palermo.

In the 1834 stato delle anime, Vito di Miceli, 56 (b. 1777), heads a household on the Cortile di Bandi, halfway between via Ravenna and the Due Rocche, with his wife, Rosalia, 57 (b. 1776), and children: Maria, 23 (b. 1810), Antonino, 19 (b. 1814), Saverio, 15 (b. 1818)[1], Leoluca, 11 (b. 1822), and Giuseppe, 8 (b. 1825).[2]

Maria marries Vincenzo Gutera, son of Giuseppe Gutera and Anna Piranio, on 7 February 1836.[3]

Maria and Vincenzo have at least five children: Giuseppe (c. 1838), Rosalia (c. 1846), Leoluca (c. 1849), Antonina (c. 1851), Vito (c. 1853).

Death

Maria dies at the reported age of 42 in Corleone in November 1855 after receiving last rites. She is survived by her husband, Vincenzo.[4][5]

Rosalia marries Domenico Piranio, of unknown parents, on 30 September 1866 in Corleone.[6]

Giuseppe marries Calogera Colletto on 11 October 1868.[7]

Leoluca marries Margherita Pecoraro on 20 February 1871 in Corleone.[8]

Antonina marries Giovanni Cusimano (“Gusmano”) on 17 September 1871.[9]
